Dr. Roman Starikov

Dr. Roman Starikov is a board-certified addiction medicine physician with extensive experience caring for patients with opioid use disorder, chronic pain, and other substance use concerns. He provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment, including Medication-Assisted Treatment with buprenorphine when clinically appropriate.

He brings a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to addiction care. Substance use disorders are rarely isolated. They are often closely connected to pain, mental health, trauma, sleep, relationships, and overall well-being. Dr. Starikov treats the whole person, with care that is respectful, nonjudgmental, and medically grounded.

His goal is to help patients move toward stability, recovery, and an improved quality of life. At Essenza, his addiction medicine services complement our psychiatry, neurology, and integrative health programs. He sees patients for opioid use disorder, medication management, buprenorphine-based treatment, substance use evaluations, relapse prevention planning, and coordinated care with our mental health and wellness teams.

Dr. Starikov originally grew up in Houston, Texas, where he attended college and medical school. In his free time, he enjoys studying history, playing chess, and spending time with his family.
