Areas of FocusDr. Vaysbrot is a board-certified neurologist and sleep medicine specialist with extensive experience treating complex neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions through an integrative, patient-centered approach. Originally from New York City, she attended Long Island University before earning her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. During medical school, her passion for neuroscience led her to pursue advanced training in neurology and neurophysiology.
Dr. Vaysbrot completed her neurology residency at SUNY Stony Brook University Hospital, where she also conducted research in neurophysiology. She went on to complete an additional fellowship year specializing in neurophysiology, further expanding her expertise in complex neurological diagnostics and treatment.
Early in her career, Dr. Vaysbrot worked alongside neurosurgeons at Southcoast Health, performing nerve conduction studies and EMGs for patients undergoing spine surgery. During this time, she also trained and worked within Massachusetts Sleep Centers under the faculty of Harvard Medical School, ultimately earning board certification in Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Vaysbrot later joined the neurology faculty at University of Arizona Medical School at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, where she specialized in the treatment of complex migraines, regional pain syndromes, and traumatic brain injuries. In addition to her clinical practice, she served as clinical faculty, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows while helping shape the next generation of physicians.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Vaysbrot relocated to San Diego and joined Scripps Clinic Medical Group. During her time there, she developed a specialized focus in reproductive neurology and the treatment of migraines and neurological conditions affecting women throughout various stages of life.
Driven by a commitment to innovation and whole-person wellness, Dr. Vaysbrot has spent recent years exploring emerging therapies designed to improve quality of life for patients who have not found relief through traditional treatment approaches. Her work includes integrating advanced modalities such as TMS, ketamine-assisted therapies, and GLP-1 receptor agonist treatments for neuropsychiatric and wellness-related conditions.
Today, Dr. Vaysbrot collaborates with psychiatrists and longevity specialists at Essenza Wellness to provide cutting-edge, personalized care that bridges neurology, mental health, and wellness medicine. Her approach combines evidence-based medicine with innovative therapies to help patients optimize cognitive health, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life.
