About Dr. Washkowiak

Twenty-five years of caring for women, through every stage of life.

Dr. Kimberly Washkowiak is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with 25 years of experience. At Essenza in La Jolla, her practice focuses on gynecology, menopause health, hormone replacement and optimization, and intimate health, the areas of a woman’s wellbeing that too often go unasked about and untreated.

She earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed her residency at UC San Diego Medical Center. Her hospital career at Scripps includes years of high-acuity care for hospitalized patients, including emergency gynecologic surgery. That experience shapes the calm, thorough judgment she brings to every office visit.

Dr. Washkowiak believes hormonal health and sexual health deserve the same rigor, time, and respect as any other part of medicine. Her visits are unhurried and direct, built around listening first. Whether the concern is perimenopause, menopause, hormone optimization, painful intimacy, or a question a patient has never felt comfortable raising, her answer starts with taking it seriously.

She is fluent in Spanish and Korean, and welcomes patients from across San Diego County in the language they are most comfortable in.
